February 2023 | On February 2nd, The GWP Board of Directors sent notice to members that a new executive director has been selected and will begin on February 15. That announcement can be viewed by members here. A public announcement will be made during the week of February 15.

Winter 2022 | The GWP Executive Search Committee and board, along with Marcum LLP, have been conducting interviews from a selection of highly-qualified candidates. October 2022 | The Search Committee officially launches the search for a new Executive Director. The position profile outlining the position is attached below and members are encouraged to share with their networks. The search firm we have hired to support our search, Marcum LLP, will be conducting outreach and reviewing resumes of those who apply. The intent is that the Executive Director will begin late this year or early in the New Year.

August 2022 | The  GWP Executive Search Committee has engaged Marcum LLP to conduct the search for a new executive director. Marcum's diverse team of mission-driven professionals strives to expand leadership capacity and increase long-term organizational effectiveness. We expect to launch the search process in early September. GWP's Strategic Planning Committee and consultants will be working with Marcum to ensure that stakeholder input and recommendations inform the search process.

Strategic Planning Process

October 2022 Update

The team from The Giving Practice spent the first part of 2022 capturing and synthesizing input from members, the GWP board and its staff.  With GWP’s strategic planning committee and staff, a refreshed strategic framework was developed. The strategic framework is (intentionally) not a full strategic plan; rather, it captures GWP’s organizational evolution and suggests possible refinements of GWP’s mission, vision and priorities.

In the fourth quarter of 2022, the strategic framework will be used to inform the hire of GWP’s next executive director.  Once the incoming CEO is in place, one of his/ her top priorities will be to work with board, staff and members to further clarify GWP’s mission, vision and goals; design its activities; and develop an implementation plan.

April 2022 | Following an RFP process, Grantmakers of Western Pennsylvania has engaged Mark Sedway and Lisa McGill (via The Giving Practice) to serve as the consultants to refresh GWP’s strategic objectives.
