Western Pennsylvania is home to a growing number of community foundations, all of which ensure that residents have robust opportunities for charitable giving within their own localities. GWP’s network of community foundation leaders meets periodically as a peer learning network to exchange updates and strategies. In the past, our community foundation gatherings have focused on issues such as exploring shared back-office services (including developing a joint proposal for a feasibility study) and the work of other community foundation networks on creating state tax credits as incentives to build community foundation endowments). Changes in tax treatment and other legislation affecting this group of organizations is also an ongoing focus.
