Join us as Allegheny County Executive Rich Fitzgerald and Pittsburgh Mayor Ed Gainey provide a briefing especially for GWP members.

In a conversation moderated by Lucille Dabney, president & CEO of Program to Aid Citizen Enterprise (PACE) and vice president of GWP’s board, the County Executive and Mayor will brief GWP members on their plans for the region, the challenges they face, and the new opportunities they see. As always, we will reserve plenty of time for members to engage in Q & A and discussion as well.

This program is open to all GWP members and provides the opportunity to learn about our elected leaders’ priorities and how they plan to move forward in the coming months. It also provides a chance to discuss how the philanthropic community can better collaborate with the city and county to make our region more healthy, prosperous, and vibrant for all its residents.

Agenda:

3:00 PM – 4:00 PM     Panel Discussion with County Executive and Mayor
4:00 PM – 5:00 PM     Networking Event

This is planned to be an in-person event. When Covid case levels in Allegheny county remain either in "low" or "medium" levels, we will meet in-person. If the county levels rise to "high" we will transition to a virtual session. The building is located directly across from Gatweay Center T Stop. Nearby parking garages include Gateway Center Garage, Riverfront Center at 625 Stanwix, Etage Garage at 400 Stanwix St.

As we transition to hosting more in-person meetings, Grantmakers of Western Pennsylvania (GWP) is dedicated to ensuring a safe and comfortable environment for all participants, staff, and speakers. GWP will host in-person member meetings as requested if COVID-19 Community Levels at the time and location of the event are categorized as “low” or "medium". We will continue to monitor the status of the COVID-19 pandemic in our region and adapt our health and safety practices according to local ordinances and Centers for Disease Control (CDC) guidelines, including:

  • Implementing mask requirements or recommendations per local ordinances and/or national guidelines based on COVID-19 Community Levels at the time of the event.

  • Working to optimize the safety of our attendees. Our safety guidelines will be articulated as part of each meeting registration. Reminders of our practices, including any updates or changes, will be communicated to registered participants as events approach.

We are committed to making GWP events accessible to all members. If you have questions, or if an accommodation would be helpful to fully participate, please reach out to Paula or call 412-471-6488 and we will make every effort to accommodate your request.
