Organizations can face closure for a number of reasons: shifts in funding, demographics, and/or environments; diminishing community support; achieving an organization's mission; or a lessened need for its mission, to name a few. The decision to close an organization can be an intense and hectic experience as considerable time, attention, and resources are required to navigate the logistics, consider the legal options, mitigate the impact, celebrate accomplishments, and ensure legacy.
