A group of foundation staff has come together in recent months to understand how they can more effectively respond to the opioid crisis in Allegheny County. The group has agreed to continue meeting monthly to develop a coordinated approach to this issue. We welcome all members' involvement in this group and hope you will join us for this next session as well as mark your calendar for all upcoming monthly meetings.
During this session, we will continue our collaborative work on advancing a potential communication strategy. In addition, Robert Elser, Overdose Prevention Administrator at the Department of Health, will share some ideas about potential good investments for foundations. Robert has over 20 years in national and international education focused on student-focused environments. He is a past member of the board of directors and an outreach worker for Prevention Point Philadelphia and holds two master’s degrees in education and arts history. Robert is also an ex-marine.
