During this webinar, the three philanthropy serving organizations (PSOs) in Pennsylvania - Grantmakers of Western Pennsylvania, Northeastern Pennsylvania Grantmakers and Philanthropy Network Greater Philadelphia - announced the joint launch of Pennsylvania Foundation Stats, a new online dashboard that provides a window into the philanthropy landscape for our state and within four distinct regions in Pennsylvania.
This new easy-to-use tool is publicly available, offering statewide and regional insights into:
- The composition of Pennsylvania-based foundations, including top funders by assets and total giving;
- The giving priorities, populations served and support strategies of those foundations, and
- Giving to Pennsylvania by all foundations, regardless of location.
All data in the dashboard is sourced from the Foundation Center’s databases of philanthropic information, and is an extension of the “Get on the Map” campaign, a national initiative to improve the quality, accuracy and availability of public data about philanthropy by having funders electronically-report their grants data in real time.
Pennsylvania Foundation Stats is made possible through a national partnership with the Foundation Center and represents a groundbreaking collaboration among our three organizations. Pennsylvania is among the first to pilot this new tool, and we are proud to join other states and regions including California, Connecticut, Illinois and the Southeast in this important transparency and knowledge-sharing effort.
