The Sprout Fund is pleased to announce The City As Our Maker Space as the recipient of the $40,000 Seed Award for Economic Opportunity project grant. They will use the funding to conduct a six-month program serving low-income, marginalized women with a focus on women of color. This program will specialize in literacy, wellness, and health, with the ultimate goal of supporting the women to pursue careers in technology and creative entrepreneurship. The program will be led by representatives from five partner organizations: Prototype PGH, Black Unicorn Library, A Piece of Mind, Ujamaa Collective, and Flower House.
