Faithful to the End: Civic Arena Supports Pittsburgh Penguins Foundation’s Youth Programs

As the Civic Arena’s steel roof is removed, the community stands to benefit. The Pittsburgh Penguins Foundation has arranged with Wendell August Forge to craft Christmas tree ornaments out of the steel, and proceeds from the ornament sales will be used to support the youth hockey programs organized by the nonprofit foundation. Public response to owning a piece of "The Igloo" has been enthusiastic; some purchasers may have to wait beyond Christmas this year to receive their piece of hockey history.
