We are very pleased that Sustainable Agriculture & Food Systems (SAFSF) has selected Pittsburgh as the city for their 2019 Annual Forum. SAFSF's Annual Forum moves to a different location each year and strikes a balance between programming that is inspired by a particular region and applicable to their national network's broad interest areas and work. In order to ensure that the best of our local food-systems work is highlighted, Grantmakers of Western Pennsylvania would like to convene our network of Food Funders to help SAFSF do some brainstorming and planning for the Forum.
On May 9th, Bridget and Susie from the SAFSF staff will be visiting Pittsburgh, and would like to have an initial conversation over lunch to get to know some of the funders in the area and to learn more about the region and your interests within the food system. During the meeting, they will share details about their network, how the Forum is planned, and opportunities to provide input throughout the planning process.
We hope you will join us for this initial discussion, which will be one of many inputs and conversations that will help to shape the programming and theme for the 2019 SAFSF Forum.
