As part of increasing commitments to equity in grantmaking, many foundations are striving to support a broader base of grantees and seeking to support new organizations. But often longstanding internal processes and criteria can exclude key organizations and communities.

In this workshop, BDO FMA will share ways to approach financial due diligence that bolster an organization’s financial health and ability to achieve its mission over the long term.

During the session, we will explore key questions around the grantmaking process, including:

  • Do your foundation’s financial due diligence processes match its values?
  • How can due diligence be aligned with commitments to equity?
  • What tools can your foundation use to assess grantee capacity and financial health?

This workshop is presented in partnership with our colleagues at Maine Philanthropy Center. Members of both Grantmakers of Western Pennsylvania and Main Philanthropy Center are welcome to participate. This session will be virtual. Connection details will be available upon registration.

We are committed to making GWP programs accessible to all members. If you have questions, or if an accommodation would be helpful to fully participate in this program, please reach out to Paula or call 412-471-6488 and we will make every effort to accommodate your request.
