With generous support from The Heinz Endowments, GWP is once again partnering with The Funders Network for Smart Growth and Sustainable Communities (TFN) to offer an exceptional opportunity for professional development in 2018. A PLACES Fellowship with TFN is a transformational leadership development experience that gives professionals in philanthropy the tools, knowledge, and best practices needed to embed an equity lens into their work.
Join GWP and previous PLACES Fellows Mac Howison (Creative Learning Program Officer with The Heinz Endowments) and Karen Abrams (Diversity & Community Affairs Manager with the Urban Redevelopment Authority) to learn more about this opportunity.
PLACES Fellows embark on a year-long process focused on creating more equitable neighborhoods and communities — and learning how to turn ideals into outcomes. Mac and Karen will join us to share their experiences as PLACES Fellows and answer any questions prospective applicants might have about the process.
We hope to continue to build a cohort of emerging leaders in greater Pittsburgh who understand how to apply a race, equity and inclusion (REI) lens to their work in community and economic development.
Lunch will be provided.
Grow your network. Lead the way. Be the change.
Thanks to generous support from The Heinz Endowments, one fellowship (including travel stipends for national site visits) will be fully funded and available to a Pittsburgh-area participant at no cost in 2018, subject to application and selection by TFN’s advisory committee.
Online applications are now being accepted here. The deadline for application is October 30, 2017 and the fellowship program starts in spring 2018.
