Stand For Your Mission is a coordinated campaign designed to raise awareness – specifically among nonprofit board members – that being an external advocate for the nonprofit’s mission is an important and expected role for every board member. Stand for Your Mission was initiated by BoardSource — together with the Alliance for Justice, the Campion Foundation, the John S. and James L. Knight Foundation, the National Council of Nonprofits, and the Forum of Regional Associations of Grantmakers – to unleash the full potential of the nonprofit sector to advance their missions in their local communities by engaging board members more directly as ambassadors on behalf of their organizations.
