The Henry L. Hillman Foundation has announced funding commitments over $5 million for organizations and initiatives working to prevent homelessness by building or preserving transitional housing units and providing wraparound support services for people in need. The grants support new and existing programs and services provided by six different organizations in southwestern Pennsylvania. They include supportive housing programs with wraparound services accessible to people with underlying conditions who may face challenges in securing safe and affordable housing. The grants also support projects that create new or preserve existing single-room occupancy units (SROs) that often serve as a transitional bridge to permanent housing.
