In 2020 The Nonprofit Effectiveness Study, published by Program to Aid Citizen Enterprise (PACE) illustrated that although capacity building measurably increases the effectiveness of nonprofits, 66% of the nonprofits need more. Furthermore, it revealed that 23% receive more capacity-building support than they need. It also confirmed that many Black-led and Black-serving nonprofit organizations had far less access to resources for capacity-building than their White-led and White-serving counterparts in Western Pennsylvania, thus impacting these organizations’ ability to improve the wellbeing of their communities and effectively carry out their missions.
In response to this glaring difference in access to capacity-building, PACE engaged with Common Cause Consultants (CCC) to continue the Analysis of Regional Capacity Building Project. They investigated a crucial issue: What are the intervention points needed to best serve nonprofits throughout the 10- county region of Southwestern Pennsylvania?
Join us for this session to review the findings from the analysis of capacity-building efforts and explore together some of the opportunities and challenges our funding community might address together.
