Child Care Workforce Crisis and Equitable Solutions
The results of the midterm elections loom large for early care and education programs. As low wages and lack of capacity continue to plague the early learning community, child care is a rising issue for elected officials at the state and federal level. The Policy Equity Group, expert in early childhood policy, is supporting electoral and policy strategies for child care in key states, including Pennsylvania, and at the federal level. Learn what early learning policies will become priority after the midterms that impact Allegheny County. The conversation will spotlight early learning compensation strategies used in other regions, including challenges and opportunities, as well as how the recently released Preschool Development Grants Birth to Five may be leveraged to facilitate workforce systems change in the region. Leaders will be able to connect their work to workforce strategies and policy, and funders will be able to identify where their investment portfolios align to support positive workforce outcomes and plan for a new state agenda.
