Sharing the Wealth: Strategies for Engaging Your Family in Your Family Philanthropy
Increasingly, senior family members who engage in philanthropy at any scale—whether through their checkbooks or their private family foundations—want to engage family members in researching and giving to areas that are important to the family or the individual. Families want to be strategic in their giving and impactful to the areas that they care about collectively. They seek plans, guidelines and structure that allow them to commit more deeply to the causes that matter most and to zero in on where they are uniquely positioned to do the most good.
With a historic wealth transfer now underway, families can learn a great deal from others how to thoughtfully engage their next generation in their work. The variance in priorities among family members can make it seem challenging to find a shared strategy, but with thoughtful consideration, it can be done.
Join GWP's network of family foundations for a conversation with Jenna Mulhall-Brereton, Chief Philanthropic Services Officer of National Philanthropic Trust. Jenna has spent her career assisting significant philanthropic families to develop and implement how they work toward shared charitable goals.
This will be offered as a virtual meeting. Connection details will be shared several days prior to the meeting.
