Featured speakers
Didier Sylvain approaches everything as a creative opportunity, thriving at the nexus of imaginative thinking and pragmatic disciplines. He designs and guides transformational experiences for the growth of companies, individuals, nonprofits and communities. This was honed through delivering results with world-renowned consulting and social impact institutions including Deloitte Consulting, Spotify, Echoing Green, the Bertha Foundation, Zoo Labs and the National Coalition on Black Civic Participation. As a native of New York and the child of Haitian immigrants, Didier’s process involves a unique combination of experiential learning, sound, spirit and pragmatism to activate innovative leadership in every room. Didier holds a B.A. in Economics from Boston College and a M.S. in Public Policy and Management, with a concentration in social entrepreneurship, from Carnegie Mellon University. Didier continues to explore ways to apply his academic, professional and creative background to his work with others.
Jason C. Born is vice president for programs at the National Center for Family Philanthropy. In this role, Jason serves as NCFP's lead knowledge curator, content creator, and connector for philanthropic families. Jason is the founding editor of both Family Giving News and the Passages Issue Brief series, and serves as host of NCFP’s monthly Family Philanthropy Webinar series. He previously helped to launch Funders Together to End Homelessness as director of national outreach for the Melville Charitable Trust.
Neil Sumilas manages the National Center for Family Philanthropy’s financial operations, strategic planning, staffing and personnel, and board relations. Before joining NCFP in 2015, Neil was an independent consultant advising non-profit and for-profit clients on programmatic and management issues unique to the non-profit world. Neil was previously Managing Director of the German Marshall Fund of the United States and before that oversaw the Fund’s alumni activities and leadership development programs, including the Marshall Memorial Fellowship. Neil received a bachelor’s degree and his MBA from Georgetown University.
