Charitable giving by a business presents unique challenges. Corporate grantmakers have multiple stakeholders to consider when making decisions about resource allocation; the corporate setting often requires quick decision-making; and more often than not corporate giving staff are also responsible for a broader set of activities including employee engagement programs and the company’s broad agenda for corporate social responsibility. Being funded by a company also brings with it expectations that the funding area will be “strategic” and will increase the company’s visibility and/or build its brand.
All of GWP’s corporate members navigate these challenges daily, and we have a great storehouse of knowledge and experience housed within this network. GWP invites you to leverage this peer network by joining a quarterly roundtable discussion about corporate philanthropy. Come to the table to share your current exciting initiatives, dig into your challenges, share your best practices, and identify common challenges. Based on these discussions, GWP will work with interested corporate members to identify resources and experts from the field to develop additional 2018 programming just for corporate members.
Light lunch will be served.
Special thanks to Ellen Rossi at EQT for hosting the first quarter’s meeting!
