A new website will permit online viewers to help direct where a corporation’s charitable dollars will go. An initiative of Ecomedia, the Viewers to Volunteers website enables users to view online content, earn points by ‘liking’ or sharing the content with others, and then use their points to communicate where the user wants charitable dollars to flow. To date four cities (Los Angeles, Philadelphia, Dallas-Ft. Worth and the Twin Cities) are participating, along with national nonprofits like First Book, Volunteers of America and Junior Achievement.
