The United Way of Butler County has joined United Way of Southwestern Pennsylvania, which now spans five counties.
The transaction was confirmed on Monday by both organizations, and the transition is expected to occur over a six-month period.
Butler United Way will maintain its office, staff, local partners and funds.
The United Ways of Allegheny County and Westmoreland merged in July 2015 to create UWSWPA. Westmoreland also included Fayette and southern Armstrong counties.
