The McCune Foundation is pleased to announce that Stephanie K. McCarthy has been hired as the organization’s Program Associate. Ms. McCarthy was selected following a search effort that yielded responses from over 150 applicants. Ms. McCarthy will be providing assistance in executing grantmaking programs, developing a system for aggregating the impacts of the Foundation’s sunset strategy, and completing specials projects.
Ms. McCarthy was far and away the Foundation’s selection based upon her past experience, including work with Pittsburgh’s rich non-profit and philanthropic communities. Before joining the Foundation, Ms. McCarthy was the Director of Applied Initiatives within the Division of Applied Research and Evaluation at Pitt’s Office of Child Development (OCD). Prior to her work at OCD, she worked as a mentor to students and a Grant Writing Instructor at Pitt’s School of Education. Ms. McCarthy also worked for Olszak Management Consulting as a Nonprofit Services consultant between 2006 and 2009.
Ms. McCarthy received her MBA from Pitt’s Katz School of Business with dual concentrations in Marketing and Human Resources/Organizational Development. She received a BA in Biochemistry from Duquesne University with minors in Biology and Mathematics.
