State of the Nonprofit Sector 2015

Monday, May 11, 2015

Nonprofit Finance Fund (NFF) just released the results of its 2015 State of the Nonprofit Sector Survey.  This annual survey, launched during the recession in 2008, compiles programmatic, financial and operational data from more than 5,400 nonprofit respondents nationwide.  It reveals some stabilization and growth since 2008, but there are many indications that nonprofits are struggling with how they will serve their communities over the long term.  For example: more than 75 percent of nonprofits reported an increase in demand for their services, but more than half (52%) indicated, for the third straight year, that they could not meet that increased demand.

Read key findings from the survey here.  And check out NFF’s data analyzer (which filters results by state, size of operational budget, service to low-income communities, and other factors) here.
