Robert Nelkin Announces Retirement From United Way Of SWPA

After eleven years at the United Way, Bob Nelkin will be stepping down next year as the president and chief executive of the United Way of Southwestern Pennsylvania. During the past eleven years, the United Way has created highly successful programs, achieved greater impact for the community, ensured accountability for results achieved, forged new fundraising strategies and agency partnerships and drove significant efficiencies. 

The United Way board has retained the services of an executive recruitment firm and a search committee comprised of United Way Board members has been formed to direct the hiring process. Bob has committed to be an active chief executive until his successor is in place and a transition is completed.  United Way’s senior management team is experienced, tenured and has been successful in growing the United Way’s presence, revenue and geographic impact. Each member of the senior team, along with Bob, remains passionate about their work, and committed to participating in a smooth leadership transition.
