May is World Asthma Month and Allegheny General Hospital, Allegheny Health Network, and The Breathe Project are presenting a summit on the impact of the Pittsburgh region’s air quality on asthma outcomes in local communities. Particulate matter pollution is tied to multiple illnesses, including asthma, and Pittsburgh’s particulate matter air pollution is among the worst 15 percent of cities in the U.S. This summit, which is free and open to the public, will focus on air quality in Pittsburgh and the impact of urban living on public health; it will also summarize action items to clean our region’s air.
