Pulling Pittsburgh into the Future

Tuesday, April 19, 2016

Fred Thieman, president of The Buhl Foundation, notes in the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette that our city seems to have turned the corner from Rust Belt decline to “the new Brooklyn.”   But he cautions that we are only beginning the long, demanding process to make the region everything it can be.   “Unless a broad contingent of leaders pulls in harmony, with a synchronized commitment to the common good and in fidelity to shared goals, we will not open a lead on the many regions with which we compete,” he writes.  “...More so now than ever, that shared destiny needs to be broad, inviting and inclusive.”
