Project Aims at Building Black Wealth Through Economic Cooperation

The Pittsburgh Foundation and The Heinz Endowments have awarded grants to fund an African-centered Cooperative Research Project that aims to reach Black residents and Black-owned businesses to generate economic cooperation intended to build wealth. The project is spearheaded by the Hill District’s cooperative arts and culture store and education nonprofit Ujamaa Collective, Emerald City’s Black business directory Cocoapreneur Pgh, and Houston-based Sankofa Research Institute.
