The Pittsburgh Foundation and United Way Have Teamed Up to Create #PghUnitedForUkraine

The Pittsburgh Foundation and United Way of Southwestern Pennsylvania are partnering to encourage donor and general public support for United Way Worldwide’s networks responding to the flow of Ukrainian refugees into Eastern Europe. Because of the massive numbers of refugees and the complexity of providing humanitarian aid around a war zone, the partners are encouraging donors to consider campaign portal #PghUnitedForUkraine campaign, which will direct gifts to United Way organizations in the countries welcoming Ukrainians such as United Way RomaniaUnited Way Hungary, and Fundacja Dobrych Inicjatyw (Good Initiatives Foundation) in Poland. The joint effort will provide relief to the 1 million and counting Ukrainian refugees who have been displaced by the war by sending donations to United Way’s partner organizations in  the neighboring countries of Poland, Hungary and Romania. Those donations will be will used to provide transport, shelter, childcare supplies and food to those displaced.
