McCune Foundation Distribution Committee Chairman Michael Edwards is pleased to announce that Laurel S. Randi has been selected to be the Foundation’s next Executive Director in October 2016 upon the retirement of Henry S. Beukema, who has served in that capacity since July 1992. Ms. Randi came to the Foundation in April 2006 as a Program Officer, and was promoted to Senior Program Officer, and then Program Director as her duties and responsibilities increased.
Mr. Edwards commented that “Henry Beukema’s decades of leadership have positioned the McCune Foundation as a quiet influence in Southwestern Pennsylvania. While he will be greatly missed, we are very excited about Laurel’s selection, which was made following a regional search that produced a strong field of very competitive candidates. In the end, Laurel was our unanimous choice because of her breadth and depth of grantmaking experience, her knowledge of the region’s nonprofit community, and her vision for the Foundation’s last thirteen years, before it sunsets in October 2029. She has helped craft many of the strategies related to the Foundation’s final years, and was deemed the best leader to help us implement and execute those plans.”
