Kevin Jenkins Named Manchester Bidwell VP of Operations

Thursday, January 29, 2015

Manchester Bidwell Corporation (MBC) announced that Kevin Jenkins will be joining their organization as the VP of Operations, starting Feb 2.  Jenkins will run the parent organization’s day-to-day operations and oversee the nonprofit groups underneath it, including Bidwell Training Center, a nationally accredited adult education program; Manchester Craftsmen’s Guild; MCG Youth & Arts; MCG Jazz; the National Center for Arts & Technology.  Kevin comes to MBC from The Pittsburgh Foundation, where he helped move their agenda forward over the past eight years.  With his leadership, he helped social service organizations gain more influence in policy decisions and was also instrumental in bringing the region’s human service nonprofits to a much higher level of effectiveness in demonstrating value as a sector.

“He brings a lot of knowledge about operating in a nonprofit environment, he has very strong political connections, and we think he is certainly the type of leader that we need in this organization,” said Paulo Nzambi, chief operating officer at Manchester Bidwell, which offers arts education, job training and a variety of social services for urban and at-risk youths and adults.

Jenkins said although he’ll miss the foundation work, he’s excited that the new role will take him closer to his “roots as a social worker.”
