The Heinz Endowments has given the Allegheny County Health Department a $200,000 grant to support its “Health Equity in Action” program.
The program provides funding to engage communities in problem-solving and support efforts to raise awareness of societal factors that contribute to infant mortality such as race, place and power through film screenings and community workshops. The program’s goal is to reduce infant mortality and improve maternal health.
