Grant Oliphant, president of the Heinz Endowments since 2014, is departing in February to become CEO of the Conrad Prebys Foundation in San Diego in March. During his tenure as presiden, Grant reshaped the Endowments' grantmaking to build a more just community through a focus on three strategic grantmaking areas — sustainability, creativity and learning. Grant's move to San Diego will put him closer to his family, something that has become increasingly important since the Covid-19 pandemic erupted. His parents live in California and New Mexico and his son is also on the West Coast.
