Two major advanced manufacturing initiatives founded by Carnegie Mellon University will anchor the redevelopment of the iconic Mill 19 at the Almono site, newly renamed Hazelwood Green.
CMU's Manufacturing Futures Initiative, an interdisciplinary research effort, has been supported with a $20 million investment from the Richard King Mellon Foundation. CMU's Advanced Robotics for Manufacturing Institute represents a public-private partnership that will put new technologies to work in manufacturing.
