Wednesday, April 3, 2019

The EQT Foundation awarded a record of more than $7.7 million in grants, scholarships, and other charitable contributions to nonprofit organizations and programs throughout southwestern Pennsylvania, eastern Ohio, and northern West Virginia during 2018.  Additionally, the Foundation matched charitable contributions made by employees and directors of EQT Corporation and its subsidiaries on a dollar-for-dollar basis, totaling more than $1.2 million of additional investments in the community last year.

A new scholarship program for graduating high school students in Belmont County in Ohio, and Greene and Washington Counties in Pennsylvania, was also created.  EQT will award five $1,000 scholarships and one scholarship of up to $18,000 per school year in each county. Eligible students must pursue a degree in a field that is utilized in the energy field. The EQT Students of Excellence Scholarship Program will be facilitated through local partners: Community Foundation for the Ohio Valley; Community Foundation of Greene County; and the Washington County Community Foundation.  Each community foundation will solicit and review applications and distribute awards to students in their respective county.
