Dr. Jim Withers/ Operation Safety Net Is Named A CNN Top Ten Hero

Many GWP members are familiar with the remarkable work of Dr. Jim Withers, who began taking medical care to homeless people under Pittsburgh’s bridges in 1992.   His ‘street rounds,’ conducted with medical students and social workers, provide care to homeless people on the city’s streets, in a mobile van, and in drop-in centers.
