Community Foundation for the Alleghenies Turns 25

Monday, July 6, 2015

“The best time to plant a tree is twenty-five years ago; the next best time is now.”  These words capture the spirit of Community Foundation for the Alleghenies as it celebrates its quarter-century on July 9 in Johnstown, PA.  The foundation is asking the community to think about these questions: “What inspires or energizes you? How would you like to make an impact? What do you love in our community?”   After reflecting on those questions, attenders at the 25th anniversary celebration have a chance to support the causes they care about: the community foundation will hold four $2,500 drawings—$10,000 in all—to commemorate this milestone and those whose names are chosen can direct $2,500 into any of the foundation’s 531 funds.
