Building on #MeToo

Tuesday, February 20, 2018

The courageous sharing of personal experiences through #MeToo has been very powerful, but it takes commitment to translate awareness into changes in policy and organizational culture.  To this end, four GWP members -- FISA Foundation, Jewish Healthcare Foundation, The Heinz Endowments and The Pittsburgh Foundation – have supported Southwest PA Says No More to bring the international leader, activist, teacher and scholar Jackson Katz to Pittsburgh in early March.

Katz’s message is: Men have an important role to play in addressing other men's violence and in teaching boys that manhood is more than dominance and control.  Check out this upcoming training opportunity for people who want to go beyond "check the box" sexual harassment prevention to address real and lasting change.   Participants may select between a half-day introductory workshop on March 6, or a smaller, curated, full-day leadership development training on March 7 for people in decision-making roles.
