The Beckwith Institute announced it has reserved $400,000 to help ease Covid-19 food insecurity and provide recovery on the frontlines of the health care crisis. Grants will go to address food insecurity and other immediate needs due to what has happened with COVID-19 in the communities UPMC serves. The institute is an endowed fund at UPMC started by the health system's board chair G. Nicholas Beckwith III and his wife, Dorothy Beckwith.
