Bank of America Continues Community Support in Pittsburgh Region

Bank of America is supporting 10 local organizations with $610,000 in response to the Covid-19 pandemic. The Bank is committed to supporting the Pittsburgh Community through their Client Assistance Program and also working with local community partners to address the most pressing issues.

The 10 organizations are:

  • The Greater Pittsburgh Community Food Bank to support the region’s largest food bank and its network of hunger-relief organizations by providing 1 million emergency meals.
  • The Emergency Action Fund managed by The Pittsburgh Foundation to provide operating grants on a rolling basis to organizations in Allegheny, Westmoreland and Beaver counties serving on the front lines of recovery, including those that support senior citizen and child care services, health care and medical needs, food provisions and shelter for the homeless.
  • Chatham University to support the creation of the Baker Training Program for the unemployed and underemployed which will begin in the fall.
  • East End Cooperative Ministry to support their food pantry and community kitchen in the East Liberty area.
  • Light of Life Rescue Mission to provide food and shelter for the homeless in the North Side area.
  • United Way of Southwestern PA to increase the capacity of its 2-1-1 emergency assistance call center, which is connecting callers to critical resources like food access, rent and utility assistance and more.
  • Veterans Place of Washington Boulevard to provide housing and services to meet the needs of homeless veterans across Allegheny County.
  • Washington City Mission to provide food and shelter for homeless men, women, children and veterans in Washington County.
  • Casa San Jose to provide access to food, housing support and medical assistance for low-income and non-English speaking individuals and families across Allegheny County through its Latinx Relief Fund.
  • Indiana County Community Action Program, Inc. to support its ongoing food distribution program in convenient locations throughout Indiana County.
