Women in Pennsylvania have made considerable advances in recent years but still face obstacles that often prevent them from reaching full equality. Since the 2005 Status of Women in the States report was published a higher percentage of women have bachelor’s degrees, women are more likely to work in STEM fields, and far more women now have seats on corporate boards in our region.  And yet, women in Pennsylvania have not seen much progress in their economic security or health and social well-being, and female political participation has actually worsened in the last decade.  Pennsylvania still has much work to do to improve the status of women.

Join Grantmakers of Western Pennsylvania and The Women and Girls Foundation of Western Pennsylvania for a discussion about The 2015 Status of Women in Pennsylvania report.  Tara Simmons, Interim Chief Executive Officer of the Women and Girl’s Foundation, will join us to share some of the key highlights of the report and then we will engage in a discussion about where funders can play a role in the work that’s still to be done to ensure equity for women in our region.

Breakfast will be served.
