Program: 3:00 - 5:00 PM
Reception: 5:00 - 6:00 PM

Join GWP for an update on how human services are delivered in Allegheny County.  Marc Cherna, Director of the Allegheny County Department of Human Services (DHS), will join us for an overview of Governor Wolf’s proposed budget and the implications for providers and funders here.  We will also have an opportunity to discuss the governor’s new proposal to consolidate human services, health, drug and alcohol programs and aging into a single Pennsylvania Department of Health and Human Services.

Funders will also hear about Foster America’s Fellowship program and the work of the three Fellows working at DHS.

Finally, we’ll receive an update on the Human Services Integration Fund (HSIF). HSIF funding has provided an opportunity for its member foundations to initiate projects of mutual interest and to partner on a local and national level with other funding sources to expand opportunities for DHS to remain on the cutting-edge of the human services field. Marc, along with members of HSIF, will provide an overview of some of the projects enabled by the HSIF.

A reception will immediately follow the program. We hope you will stay on after the program for an opportunity to network with your colleagues and learn more about their work over food and wine.

Special thanks to the Richard King Mellon Foundation for supporting this program and networking reception.
