The Allegheny County Continuum of Care (CoC) is the wide array of housing options and services for people experiencing or at risk of homelessness.  Elements of the continuum include shelter, housing and supportive services; outreach, engagement and assessment; and prevention strategies. The CoC also refers to the diverse group of individuals who comprise the community-based, homeless-assistance network that supports planning for these services in Allegheny County, the City of Pittsburgh, the City of McKeesport and the Municipality of Penn Hills.

Marc Cherna, Director of Allegheny County Department of Human Services, and his staff joined GWP last fall to provide GWP members with an overview of the changes the Department was then implementing for providers in the County’s Continuum of Care.  Join us again to hear an update from Marc and his staff on the status of these changes and learn about next steps for the coming year.

Speakers:

Marc Cherna, Director, Allegheny County Department of Human Services

Pat Valentine, Executive Deputy Director for Integrated Program Services, Allegheny County Department of Human Services

Abigail Horn, Senior Advisor, Allegheny County Department of Human Services
