We invite you in to continue the development of the Western Pennsylvania Food Funders Group by joining us Wednesday, November 15th, 9-10:30am at Cafe Momentum.
Our goal is to connect as funders, learn about each other’s work, learn about the landscape of the field both in Western PA and nationally, and determine how we might best collaborate to create the impact we seek.
To date, we have had two meetings - April and July of 2023. Our initial meetings intended to gauge interest in this work from a foundation perspective, begin a landscape analysis of where and how philanthropy in Western PA is investing in food systems, and to begin understanding the work of food justice and how we might invest in food equitably in the region. At our last meeting, we introduced you to Jen Zuckerman of Zuckerman Consulting, who will be working with Jodi McLaughlin to help our group build on the initial surveys, take a deeper dive, and bring this work to the next level.
On November 15, we will reconvene to continue our process together. There is no requirement to have participated in previous meetings to attend on the 15th. In fact, if you have a funding partner with whom you are working or hope to work, please invite them to attend with you! For this event, we will recap our work to date, share the plan of action moving forward, spend time getting to learn about your foundation and foundation’s priorities, and hear the initial feedback from the field on their immediate and future funding needs.
