Join GWP for a demo of BigBurgh, the City’s new app that pulls together services that can help homeless and vulnerable residents by providing quick access to information on over 170 services that are good quality, free of charge, and welcoming to those without an address.

In just a few months since its release, BigBurgh has established itself as one of the most-visited such apps in the country, far outpacing the usage in much larger cities.  Bob Firth, BigBurgh’s designer and founder of Shadyside’s Informing Design, will share insights on some of the factors contributing to the app’s success.  In addition to the unique interface, Bob will describe the close, ongoing collaborative relationships with police, outreach teams, 412 Youth Zone, and the 80 other agencies and sites that are involved.

Bob will also share the exciting changes to the app for 2017 including an expansion to include county-wide services, a Spanish version, and new communication linkages between police and outreach workers, providing for a degree of collaboration that may prove a national model.

This will be a brown-bag meeting, so feel free to bring your lunch.  Drinks and desserts will be provided.
