The POISE Foundation recently announced the publication of their first position paper entitled, “Strengthening Black Families: A Case for Philanthropic Investment.”

Join us as we take a deeper look at the framework of this paper and discuss POISE’s rational behind their shift to a family-centered approach and the Strengthening Black Families (SBF) program strategy as a promising case example.

We will examine how investments in strengthening families can address the most critical issues facing America, in particular, its Black communities and discuss how funders might employ such a lens in their work–and make investments toward similar goals.

Speakers:

Karris M. Jackson, Vice President of Programs, POISE Foundation

Aerion A. Abney, Program Officer, POISE Foundation

Dr. Cherie M. Collins Sims, Consultant

Derric Heck, Program Manager, The Center that C.A.R.E.S.
