The Internal Revenue Service just issued new regulations governing program-related investments (i.e. foundation investments designed to generate both social benefit and income, and an example of impact investing).  The IRS’s historical examples of permissible PRIs were limited to domestic projects and investments in charitable organizations: the guidance just released adds nine more diverse examples of permissible PRIs and make it clear that private foundations can use an array of financial tools to achieve their charitable goals.

Join GWP as Carolyn Duronio, partner at Reed Smith and a national expert on exempt organizations, fills us in on the ramifications of the IRS’s new guidelines governing program-related investments.   This is your opportunity to learn how you can structure a foundation investment to qualify as a PRI without the cumbersome, lengthy process of seeking an IRS ruling.

Light breakfast will be served.
