The Forbes Funds, in partnership with The Benter Foundation, has been working with Achieve, a national research and marketing company, over the past two years to find out how nonprofits can customize and improve their annual fundraising campaigns based on tested and proven practices. In this program, Derrick Feldman, the creator of The Millennial Impact Project (a multi-year study of how the next generation supports causes), and Kathy Buechel of The Benter Foundation will share a synopsis of last year’s work with The Forbes Funds and an update on this year’s work.
Funders will discuss important contextual information affecting their grantees, including:
What are the new principles governing the fundraising landscape for nonprofits and funders?
What is Achieve’s assessment of the fundraising ecology of this community?
What are the implications and dynamics of nonprofits putting a greater emphasis on individual giving to fill gaps and raise unrestricted revenue?
What are critical ingredients for fundraising success in today’s environment (e.g. integrity of data and online systems)?
What might fundraising look like in five years?
What does benchmarking data suggest about the cost of a gift, cost of fundraising as a percentage of organizational budget, lifetime cost, etc.?
Presenters:
Kathy Buechel, Executive Director, The Benter Foundation
Kate Dewey, President, The Forbes Funds
