Pittsburgh PA 15219
We are pleased to announce the first convening of the Jewish Funders Learning Network, a partnership between Grantmakers of Western PA and the Jewish Federation of Greater Pittsburgh. This will be an informal network of philanthropists and grantmaking professionals in Pittsburgh who fund Jewish causes. Quarterly meetings will include structured conversations on topics of interest identified by the group, as well as unstructured time to surface questions, challenges and generate ideas.
Modeled after other GWP funder learning networks, and run in partnership with the Jewish Federation of Greater Pittsburgh, the purpose of this network is to create a space where:
- People who think about grantmaking in the Jewish space can meet each other
- Relationships are formed that carry beyond network activities
- Funders have somewhere to go to safely and productively raise and discuss questions and concerns with their peers
- Funders with common interests and approaches can form coalitions to address common causes
We hope you will join us for this first session during which we will build the network by getting to know one another and identifying common areas of interest to explore together in the future.
About the Network:
The Jewish Funders Learning Network is convened by Grantmakers of Western Pennsylvania and the Jewish Federation of Greater Pittsburgh. It is chaired by Ilene Rinn (Planning Director, the Jewish Federation of Greater Pittsburgh), Josh Donner (Executive Director, the Shapira Foundation) and Kathy Lachenauer (Executive Director, the Fine Foundation). The group will meet quarterly, alternating locations.
Who should attend:
This is for people who would find value from being a part of the group. You do not need to be Jewish yourself, or fund only/primarily Jewish causes. This is for people giving away their own money as well as philanthropy professionals. This is not for professional fundraisers or people who run or represent Jewish causes who are looking for funding. This is a no-solicitation space.
We are committed to making GWP programs accessible to all members. If you have questions about the venue, or if an accommodation would be helpful to fully participate in this program, please reach out to Paula or call 412-471-6488 and we will make every effort to accommodate your request.
Garages in close proximity to the Koppers Building are Smithfield/Liberty Garage and Mellon Garage. Parking garage information is available via the ParkPGH app.
