The Lower Hill is 28 acres of land over 7 blocks next to PPG Paints arena primarily used as parking today. The Centre Avenue plan aspires to revitalize the community as a “centre of culture,” “centre of opportunity,” and “centre of cultivation.” The revitalization plan includes entertainment facilities, hotels, retail/office, residential, and green space.

A Community Collaboration and Implementation Plan (CCIP) around the redevelopment includes seven key focus areas including: job creation, inclusion, and workforce development; MWBE inclusion; homeownership and housing; wealth building; communications and tracking; culture and community legacy; coordinated community development strategies.

Join us for a discussion about the project and specifically the focus on the job creation and workforce development goal to provide opportunities for residents from the Greater Hill District and other minority communities to be employed in the redevelopment of the Lower Hill. Partner4Work, the Builders Guild of Western PA, building trades unions, and other partners, are building a first-source labor team for the redevelopment of the Lower Hill.

Lunch will be provided.
