As the date draws near for the 2020 Census and activity accelerates, we hope you will join GWP for the next update this year on the plans for the 2020 U.S. Census in Allegheny County, and what opportunities there may still be for private philanthropy to help promote an accurate count.
During the briefing, participants can expect to receive information on the activities of the county-city Complete Count Committee (CCC) and efforts underway to conduct outreach and assistance for the 2020 Census. Among other discussion points, Andréa Stanford, Jessica Mooney, and Feyisola Akintola, who are leading census efforts for Allegheny County and the city of Pittsburgh, will share an update on the county-city Complete Count Committee framework, including a high-level overview of the types of outreach and engagement strategies that are being developed – and what resources are still needed – to ensure a complete and accurate count.
GWP members will be invited to discuss what their organizations might do or may already be doing to address the challenges of ensuring that hard-to-count populations are reached.
The Census Advisory Committee will meet directly following the Funder Briefing.
This will be offered as a virtual meeting. Connection details will be shared after registration.
We are committed to making GWP programs accessible to all members. If you have questions, or if an accommodation would be helpful to fully participate in this program, please reach out to Paula or call 412-471-6488 and we will make every effort to accommodate your request.
