Grantmakers Income Security Taskforce’s (GIST), a national funders’ network focused on low-income families, sponsors an annual budget and tax briefing in Washington, DC.  Participants learn about the year’s federal policy outlook and discuss how the federal budget and tax policies will affect low-and middle-income people.

This year, GIST is joining with local partners to make the knowledge presented at this event available to grantmakers unable to travel to Washington, DC.  In partnership with GIST, GWP is hosting a virtual “Budget and Tax Briefing for Grantmakers” watch party.

Local watch parties will view a webcast of the keynote address on the federal budget and tax outlook from Bob Greenstein, President of the Center on Budget and Policy Priorities. Recognized as a national leader on fiscal policy issues, Mr. Greenstein will provide an overview on the key provisions in the federal budget, discuss current and upcoming budget debates and battles, and offer insights on the potential impact for low-income families, workers and communities.

GWP members who have participated in prior years have given CBPP’s annual keynote presentation high marks.  We invite you to join GWP as we watch the keynote address from the 14th Annual (GIST) Budget and Tax Briefing for Grantmakers on March 1st from 11:15 AM -12:15 PM.  Light lunch will be served.
